Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes, I am in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Blue Care Network, United Health Care/Optum, Aetna, and Priority Health. Please see my Fees page for more information.

  • The first session won’t really feel like therapy. The purpose of the intake is for me to get a better understanding about what brings you to therapy, your background, and your goals for therapy. At the end of the intake, we can discuss specific goals you would like to work on, which will help me create a treatment plan tailored to your needs.

  • Everyone’s needs and goals are different, so there isn’t a specific length. Some individuals find that they only need a few months, while others benefit from long-term therapy to work on new challenges or issues that arise. I recommend trying therapy for at least two to three sessions before deciding if it’s the right fit for you.

  • Typically, we start with weekly sessions and transition to less frequent meetings when sufficient progress has been made and there is a decreased need for weekly sessions. I see individuals on a weekly, biweekly, monthly, and on an as-needed basis. In certain cases, weekly sessions are necessary due to presenting concerns. I understand people can have different availability and financial means, therefore I’m happy to work with you to find a schedule that you fits your needs.

  • If you can’t make it to a session, you must cancel at least 24 hours in advance. If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice or miss a session, you will be responsible for the full cost of the session, except in the case of emergencies.

  • I will wait up to 15 minutes past the starting time before it’s considered a missed session. If you know you’ll be running late, feel free to notify me to see if we can make special arrangements.

  • Yes, I have limited spots for in-person sessions in Royal Oak. Otherwise, therapy is offered virtually on Doxy.me, a secure HIPAA compliant platform.
